This Week: Edition 100

Content

It’s been a busy and productive week here at Haelo. In a very special 100th edition of ‘This Week’ Becky White, Communications Assistant, tells us what’s got the team chatting this week…

Demystifying Improvement Workshop

This week saw the Demystifying Improvement Workshop with our Chief Executive Professor Maxine Power and Senior Improvement Advisor Kurt Bramfitt. The workshop untangled the web of improvement science and equipped delegates with the toolkit to scale up and spread improvement in 2016 and beyond. We were delighted with the enthusiasm of the delegates and a thank you must go to all staff who helped bring the day together. The content was both engaging and inspiring, which reflected in fantastic event feedback from participants.

The workshop was inspired after the huge success of Maxine’s improvement blog series. You can now find all of Maxine’s blog in one handy place: Power on Improvement.

Focus on Nursing Assessment and Accreditation System session

Last month, Haelo in partnership with Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust welcomed international visitor Jenny Parr, Director of Infection Prevention and Control and Associate Director of Nursing, Waitemata District Health Board, New Zealand.

Jenny has been leading the ward accreditation programme at Waitemata District Health Board, modelled in part on the Nursing Assessment and Accreditation System programme, or NAAS for short. NAAS is the (not so) secret ingredient, which caused the unique transformation of nursing culture and safety at Salford Royal – owned and developed by nurses. The focus of the Information and Knowledge Exchange visit included a tour of Salford Royal complete with an expert NAAS session from Lead Nurse, Corporate Services, Fiona Morris.
