It’s been another busy week here at Haelo. In ‘This Week’ Becky White, Communications Assistant, tells us what’s got the team chatting this week…
15th – 21st May was Dementia Awareness Week and every person in the Haelo team has got involved! From becoming Dementia Friends to walking a marathon, the whole team has been proactive in raising awareness!
As part of the government’s historic devolution agreement, new decision making and spending powers have been given to Greater Manchester as of April 2016. One of the early health and social care priorities for this work is dementia. Dementia United, proudly hosted by Haelo, aims to make Greater Manchester the best place in the world to live for people with dementia.
In support of Dementia Awareness Week, Dementia United Lead and Haelo’s Chief Executive, Professor Maxine Power blogs about the value of community spirit.
Also Sarah, our Haelo Intern, has also written her third blog out of four (watch this space for the fourth) on her work on Dementia United.
Read our Dementia Awareness Week Round-up Blog for what else the Haelo team has been up to!

Do you use the Classic Safety Thermometer? Revolutionise your data input process with our new app!
The Safety Thermometer App, built by the NHS Quality Observatory and supported by Haelo, has been introduced to Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust to revolutionise the monthly audit of data. The audit, a national requirement, aims to monitor harm-free care across the nation.
On average it was estimated that 76.25 hours were spent in total per month on collecting and processing the information for submission in the acute setting alone (excluding paediatrics and maternity). It is now estimated that, in the acute setting, the new process will save on average 58 hours per month– that’s 696 hours per year! Of this, 73% (507 hours) are clinical hours. That equates to approximately £11.5k per annum.
