Visitors from around the globe

At Haelo, we regularly welcome national and international visitors to our offices at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT).

Whether this includes learning sessions, one to ones with experts, programme presentations or tours of our host site, we will strive to accommodate you. In the past month, we have welcomed a number of guests and expert faculty to Haelo HQ.

We were delighted to welcome Matt Tagney, Interim Head of Acute Care, NHS England who requested an introduction to Haelo and to one of our various programmes of work; the Integrated Care Programme. The visit included a tour of SRFT across various wards and the Urgent Care Emergency Village.

Listen below to why Matt praised the seamless team-working relationships in Salford and how he discovered the ‘perfect weekend’ in A&E:

This month, we also welcomed a group of executives from Tan Tock Seng Hospital.Cp-qeNzXYAApznE.jpg_large

TTSH is one of Singapore’s largest multi-disciplinary hospitals with 170 years of pioneering medical care and development. The hospital has 45 clinical and allied health departments, 16 specialist centres and is powered by more than 7,000 healthcare staff. TTSH sees over 2,000 patients at its specialist clinics and some 460 patients at its emergency department every day. TTSH is part of the National Healthcare Group, providing holistic and integrated patient care.

The group were keen to learn more about Salford’s Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Journey/Programmes. They also outlined subjects of interest such as our work with partners, vanguard sites and local best practice examples, such as Salford Together and the Emergency Village.

Improving Medicines Safety in Greater Manchester

Read how Haelo, commissioned by the Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network (GM AHSN), delivered a Breakthrough Series Collaborative to reduce harm from medicines in Greater Manchester, in our new case study.

This one-year programme concluded in April 2016 with a summit event that brought health economies together to share learning and celebrate the impact that the programme has had in their organisation. It is safer to take medication in Greater Manchester, but there’s still further to go.

“Thank you to the rest of the collaborative for making it impossible to do nothing about this problem”
Gary Masterman, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust

Lights, Camera, Improvement

Telling your improvement story using film to capture and share knowledge

Digital media has revolutionised the way we live our lives, empowering citizens and providing opportunities for gaining new information. This session will be led by Haelo’s Film Unit, who work across all Haelo’s functions to ensure film is at the heart of its work. The Haelo team uses film to set the scene for improvement, capturing patient stories that get to the very heart of the improvements we’re trying to make.
