Welcome to April edition of This Month! Becky White, Communications Officer give us the monthly update that got the team talking…

PrISMS showcased at Quality Forum

First up in our monthly update, our Chief Operating Officer, Penny Martin, represented Haelo at the Quality Forum on Friday 28 April 2017 showcasing a PRISMS poster – on improving medicines safety in general practice. The International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare is one of the world’s largest conferences for healthcare professionals committed to improving patient care and their safety. In April 2017 the International Forum returned to London.

Practices Improving the Safety of Medicines in Salford, otherwise known as PrISMS, was a Breakthrough Series Collaborative designed to improve medication safety in 8 Salford GP practices with a view to scale up across all GP practices in Salford. Commissioned by Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and delivered jointly by the CCG and Haelo, the programme included eight GP practices within Salford and ran for 12 months from September 2015.

Our successful poster submission into the display was a valuable opportunity to tell 3,000 colleagues and experts from over 80 countries, who attend the International Forum every year, about our improvement projects and to help others learn from our strategies and experiences.

The poster is thanks to the hard work of Haelo staff Bridget Armour, Alex Buckley, Penny Martin, Stephen Miller and Salford CCG staff Tina Dixon, Claire Vaughan and Mhairi Yates.
