Dementia is set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer. But awareness and understanding remains low and many families are facing it alone. The Good Life Festival held at the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre, Salford Quays, was an awareness event to highlight the services available for people and families affected by dementia in the local community. The boat race ran alongside taster sessions for people around climbing, sailing, kayaking and treasure hunting.
Our team Haelo’s Heroes entered on behalf of Haelo and Dementia United. The team came together for a common goal, a team of people affected and motivated by empowering others to live well with dementia.
